Construction of recording studio Muzychi (near Kyiv) is practically completed. The next step – decorative finishing.
We have to make a break for one or two months, as the building, which houses the studio, needs completion; existing dirt and dust do not allow us the opportunity to begin the final phase of work.

In the meantime, we’ve finished to install and adjust RA239 – high-definition monitor system with extended cabinets.

The studio has beautiful acoustics and excellent sound insulation. It is assumed that this studio will specialize in classical music recording. The owner of the studio has already purchased a large grand piano Steinway&Sons, which was made by his order. This is the second studio in Musychi. The first – more little – was built in 2009.

Acoustic design – Alexander Kravchenko. Engineer - Oleg Naumenko.

In the meantime, we’ll put some photos in the Portfolio.

Once we were invited to a meeting. The topic of the meeting was unusual: studio furniture. Our interlocutors were musicians who perform electronic music. The specificity of such creativity lies in the fact that near you there are always a lot of keyboards, samplers, sound modules, synthesizers and so on. Our interlocutors were already tired of this mess and wanted to change something.

These musicians were engaged in creativity in a small unsuitable room on the first floor. The height of the ceiling was about 280 cm, and the panels between the floors (as we learned later) were wooden, because it was an old building.

We pointed out the musicians to the problems of their premises. During the conversation it turned out that they did not know that we design recording studios. They agreed with our proposals, but they need took some time to agree on the budget. We told them that in these conditions nobody can talk about a full-fledged studio, but we can help them to do everything in this room that the laws of physics allow.

Projecting furniture is a very interesting activity, and in this case we had an opportunity to realize our ideas about studio furniture.

Three months later, everything changed. The studio table turned out to be functional, ergonomic and very beautiful. The room was very comfortable. Quantity of microphone cables became smaller at times. In addition, we managed to significantly improve the sound insulation.

Acoustic and furniture design – Alexander Kravchenko. Interior design – Maria Movchan.

The construction of this small studio was completed six months ago. From the first days of our communication, the customer was not going to build any studio. He wanted us to construct him a booth for vocals and announcers recording. First we spent some time to explain to the customer our point of view on such things, to explain all the strengths and weaknesses. Then we spent some time on establishing communication and solving bureaucratic problems…

The studio was built very quickly, because there was constantly one of our engineers during the construction.

Almost six months has passed. During this time more than 180 people were recorded! No one expected that the studio would become so popular!

And recently we’ve received such a letter.

Our research team is engaged in the study of Kazakh speech, so it was extremely important for us to have our own room or a recording booth in which it will be possible to continuously collect high-quality acoustic data. I think that we were incredibly lucky with the company Sound Consulting, which made such small and remote project as ours. And we are very happy that instead of a small cabin, we got a full-fledged sound recording studio! The studio is excellent, exceeding all our expectations for noise insulation and technical equipment. We were convinced in this once again, when we started recording, although at that time noisy construction and installation works were carried out in the university building. The recording quality is flawless! Since the completion of the studio we have already recorded more than 170 people, including professional actors, announcers and leading local TV channels. I note that it’s a pleasure to work in such a studio!

Separately, I would like to thank Alexander Kravchenko for his unique project and for not leaving us at the most difficult moment. I was very pleased to work with such professionals as Alexander and Valery, who really do their work.

Thank you, guys! I wish you further creative success!
